These river systems are critical to agriculture, Nebraska's main industry, and are also utilized by many towns, communities, and rural residents for drinking water as well as for recreational uses across the state. Furthermore, they provide critical habitat for the abundant wildlife that thrives in and along these riparian zones. Nebraska’s rivers are its most treasured natural resource and the lifeblood of the state. They deserve to be protected from the continual threats posed by invasive plants."
