Outreach and Education Overview
The Center for Invasive Plant Management (CIPM) was established to build bridges between natural resource managers, scientists, educators, policy makers, and the public. In keeping with this mission, the Center is committed to serving as a science-based information clearinghouse for our partners and anyone concerned with invasive species issues.
One of CIPM's primary goals is to provide comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date information on invasive plant issues that is useful to all levels of age and expertise. These pages are updated regularly as new information and resources become available.
- K–12 Teacher Resources: Youth education is essential for dealing with invasive species both now and in the future, and this section includes: links to lesson plans; invasive species information; publications created specifically for youth; science fair project ideas; teacher guides; and several excellent curriculums developed by CIPM partners.
- Adult Educational Resources: Educating adults is a vital part of CIPM's mission and this section offers links to online courses and textbooks, books and journals, and more.
- News and Media: This page features new videos, publications, and resources related to invasive species research, policy, and education and awareness.
- CIPM Quarterly Newsletter: Published every September, December, March, and June, the CIPM Quarterly provides engaging, in-depth, and pertinent news and information on invasive species management, research, education, and issues in the western United States.
